SOCIAL ACTION
Citizen Participation

The citizen participation project in Vila-seca was born with a vision for the future and with the ambition of a transformative educational project where bonds of trust are established between the ruler and the governed, that is, between the Administration and the Citizens.

A project that, coordinated by the Social Rights and Participation Area of the Vila-seca City Council, aims to promote the city as a space for collective construction where, on the one hand, the expertise of citizens resulting from their daily experience is taken advantage of (because the municipality is the place where they live, where they socialize, where they meet their neighbors, where their family grows up, where they perhaps have a job) and, on the other, it promotes spaces for collective construction with special sensitivity and inclusion of the diversity of perspectives.

The citizen participation project is implemented through the creation of different municipal bodies aimed at citizens, the Municipal Councils.

  •  The Municipal Councils

Municipal Councils are created with each one's own reason for being and, at the same time, with channels of interaction and interrelationship between them. They are spaces for information, deliberation and dialogue where, through collective intelligence, they experience the creation of co-diagnosis and co-proposals.

    • What are participatory municipal councils?

      • Collective construction spaces that encourage communication, information and conversation
      • Spaces with an interest in the common good and the diversity of knowledge and expertise
      • Spaces for reflection and collaborative work
