VILA-SECA A large municipality
from the Tarragona countryside
Vila-seca is a medium-sized city in Catalonia located in the Tarragonès region, in the heart of the Costa Daurada, with its coastline bathed by the Mediterranean Sea. Its municipal area extends between the municipalities of Tarragona, La Canonja, Reus, Riudoms, Cambrils and Salou. Apart from the main population center that gives its name to the town, Vila-seca, there are two other population centers: La Pineda to the southeast, in the coastal area, and La Plana to the north, near Reus.
With a practically flat orography and a gentle slope towards the sea, its location on the coast means that it is characterized by a Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and moderate winters with irregular rainfall.
It is only 8 km from the capital of the province, Tarragona, it is about 95 km from Barcelona and Lleida, 165 km from Castelló de la Plana, 190 from Girona, 210 from Zaragoza and 250 km from France.
Currently, it has an important weight within the geographical area of Camp de Tarragona, the second demographic and economic area of Catalonia, leading an economically diverse territory.
