The Vila-seca City Council has recently awarded the project for the construction of five dog parks in the municipality. Specifically, the adaptation of the five spaces to convert them into dog parks will be carried out in the three population centers, specifically three in Vila-seca, one in La Pineda and another in La Plana.
This project aims to promote coexistence and animal welfare, while providing safe and adapted spaces for dogs and their owners. The works, awarded for 767.197 euros, are scheduled to begin during the autumn and could be completed early next year.
The specific locations of the new parks are as follows: in Vila-seca they will be located in the Passatge de l'Abat Aureli M. Escarré, in the Parc de la Canaleta and in the Parc d'Austria; in La Plana it will be located next to the Sports Complex and in La Pineda, in Parc dels Prats. In terms of the surface area of the parks, the largest will be that of La Plana, with nearly 1.000 m², and the smallest will be that of Carrer de l'Abat Aureli Escarré in Vila-seca, with 250 m². The total surface area built with the five parks will be 3.260 m².
The project defines the perimeter of each park and logically incorporates benches, trash cans and a water trough, as well as trees to provide shade and improve the environment.
