17 June 2026

The Sicart Room of the Vila-seca Castle hosted yesterday, Tuesday, June 16, the closing ceremony of the 2025-2026 academic year of the Vila-seca University Extension Classroom for the Elderly.

The event was attended by the hundred students who have followed this course, and was chaired by the Councilor for Culture, Leisure and Knowledge, Manuela Moya; by the coordinator of the University Extension Classrooms of the Rovira i Virgili University, Josep M. Pons, and by the president of the University Extension Classroom for the Elderly of Vila-seca, Antonieta Serra.

The session began with the welcoming words of the councilwoman, which also gave way to the interventions of the coordinator and the president of the Classroom. The event ended with a final intervention by the councilwoman herself, followed by a family photo and refreshments for the attendees.

It should be remembered that the University Extension Classrooms for the Elderly are a project promoted by Catalan universities with the aim of responding to the cultural concerns of the elderly, offering training and leisure alternatives that allow them to stay active and acquire new knowledge in various areas.
