The mayor of Vila-seca, Pere Segura, recently received the students

Last Friday, June 12, at the Vila-seca City Hall, Mayor Pere Segura received the students of the Vila-seca Institute, representing the Rovira i Virgili University, who were champions of the Vives Network's Secondary and Baccalaureate Debate League.

Together with the magnificent rector of the Rovira i Virgili University, Josep Pallarès, and the director of the Vila-seca Institute, Mònica Torregrosa, the event included the 5 award-winning students, as well as their teaching staff.

It should be remembered that the Secondary and High School Debate League, promoted since 2014 by the Xarxa Vives, is an oratory competition in which several teams of students from different educational centers debate on a controversial and current issue. This year, specifically, the debate was on "Are we facing a more sexist youth?".

The League is aimed at students in 4th year of ESO, baccalaureate (and equivalent) and Vocational Training who are up to 18 years old during the school year of the competition, from educational centers in the Franja de Ponent, Catalonia, Valencian Country, Northern Catalonia, Andorra, Catalonia, Sardinia and the Balearic Islands.
