The competition equals the participation figures of the tenth anniversary edition and expands the number of countries represented to 61

The 11th edition of the FICVI, Vila-seca International Short Film Festival, has closed the registration period with a total of 1.130 short films from 61 countries, a figure that confirms the consolidation and international projection of the competition. The number of registered works remains in line with the figures achieved in 2025, coinciding with the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the festival, when more than 1.100 participating short films were exceeded.

The increase in the number of countries represented also demonstrates the growing international attraction capacity of the FICVI, which year after year consolidates itself as a meeting point for creators, producers and professionals in the audiovisual sector from around the world.

Organized by the Vila-seca Municipal Tourism Board, the FICVI will celebrate its 11th edition of the October 17 to 25, 2026 at the Celler de Vila-seca. During these days, the public will be able to enjoy a selection of the best national and international short films, in a program that will combine emerging talent and productions recognized within the festival circuit.

Once the registration period has ended, the selection team will now begin the process of viewing all the submitted works to choose the short films that will form part of the Official Section. The selected titles will be announced in the coming months.

The FICVI also maintains its recognition within the state's film scene as a collaborating festival in the pre-selection of the Goya Awards in the fiction, animation and documentary categories, a fact that contributes to reinforcing its prestige and projection within the sector.

With these data, the Vila-seca International Short Film Festival reaffirms its sustained growth and its commitment to the promotion of short films and film culture, placing Vila-seca, once again, on the international map of film festivals.
